Doves and Little Boots early frontrunners for Barclaycard Mercury Prize
Bat For Lashes, Glasvegas and Lily Allen are also being tipped
Doves and Little Boots have been revealed as early favourites to win the Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2009.
This year's nominations are set to be announced on July 21, and bookmakers Boylesports.com have given Doves early odds of 3-1 on scooping the prize with their 'Kingdom Of Rust' album. Little Boots is currently second favourite, tipped at 4-1 to win with 'Hands'.
Elsewhere in the bookmakers shortlist are Bat For Lashes (13-2), La Roux (7-1) and Glasvegas (16-1).
Boylesports.com's current odds for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize are as follows:
Doves – 'Kingdom Of Rust' (3-1)
Little Boots – 'Hands' (4-1)
Bat for Lashes – 'Two Suns' (13-2)
La Roux – 'La Roux' (7-1)
Florence & The Machine – 'Lungs' (10-1)
Lily Allen – 'It's Not Me, It's You' (10-1)
Glasvegas – 'Glasvegas' (16-1)
The winner will be announced on September 8.
