Glastonbury festival organiser Emily Eavis has announced that there will be a series of tributes at the festival to Michael Jackson, who died in Los Angeles of a heart attack yesterday (June 25).

The event is taking place over this weekend (June 26-28), with Eavis explaining that dues would be paid to the singer on the Worthy Farm site.

Writing on the official Glastonbury Twitter page, Twitter.com/glastofest, Eavis explained that tributes would be paid, but has not revealed specific details yet.

"So sad to hear the news about MJ," she wrote. "There will be tributes all over the site all weekend. A truly great artist."
