Regina Spektor plays 'dream' Glastonbury set
New Yorker shines on Pyramid Stage despite the rain
Regina Spektor braved afternoon showers to play a "dream" set at the 2009 Glastonbury festival this afternoon (June 26).
Backed by drums, violin and cello, the New Yorker brought her grand piano to the Pyramid Stage on the event's opening day.
Attracting a sizeable crowd, Spektor battled through the downpour, finishing her set just as Worthy Farm started to brighten up after a morning of rain.
"Hello, I am so happy to here," Spektor told the crowd halfway through her performance as she briefly swapped to electric guitar for 'Bobbing For Apples'. "It's been my dream to come here, now I'm here. New York City says 'hello!'."
Playing a career-spanning set, including early songs like 'Poor Little Rich Boy' and the rapturously received 'Us', alongside tracks like 'Blue Lips' from new album 'Far', Spektor praised the crowd for enduring the early shower, saying, "Thank you so, so much for hanging out here with us!"
Finishing her set with 'Fidelity', the singer wished the crowd "the funnest festival time of your life!"
Regina Spektor played:
'On The Radio'
'Folding Chair'
'Eet'
'Laughing With'
'One More Time With Feeling'
'Machine'
'Bobbing For Apples'
'That Time'
'Apres Moi'
'Poor Little Rich Boy'
