Jarvis Cocker is to pit his wits against some of the country's leading politicians by joining the BBC's 'Question Time' panel.

The former Pulp man will appear on this week's show on Thursday (July 2) at 10.35pm (BST) with Labour's deputy leader Harriet Harman, former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith and former Liberal Democrat boss Charles Kennedy.

Daily Mail columnist and novelist Allison Pearson is also taking part in the show which is being filmed in Cambridge.

Cocker is not the first musician who will be fielding the public's questions on the politics show, with Will Young appearing earlier this year.
