The Soft Pack bring new songs to London at 'secret' toilet-venue show

US fourpiece play gig in a converted toilet

The Soft Pack gave fans a glimpse into the writing sessions for their debut album last night (July 2), playing a host of unreleased songs at a secret gig in central London.

Playing Blue Flowers' new 'A Tribe Called West' night at Shepherd's Bush venue Ginglik, the band were watched by a select crowd lucky enough to gain entry, among them The View frontman Kyle Falconer.

The venue, which is a converted public toilet, saw the band come onstage shortly after 11pm (BST) and launch straight into new song 'Dick And June'. The Soft Pack chose to follow the track with another new number, 'Answer To Yourself', before playing a selection of more familiar tracks from their released catalogue.

'Rite And Wrong', 'Extinction' and 'Parasites' went down particularly well with the crowd, with several audience members singing along word-for-word to each.

During the latter track, Soft Pack frontman Matt Lamkin jumped into the audience and joined fans for a dance, while continuing to sing his impassioned vocal outro for the track.

Earlier locals The Goldhawks had also played a set showcasing their debut album, which they are currently recording in Wales.

The Soft Pack return to the UK this August, playing the Reading And Leeds Festivals.
