Friendly Fires praise Tennent's Lager during T In The Park set Friendly Fires Tickets

Band are also joined onstage by one of Foals during euphoric show

Friendly Fires paid tribute to official T In The Park lager Tennent's during their set in the King Tuts Wah Wah Tent at the festival today (July 11).

Backed by a two-piece brass section for the duration of their set, the St Albans band played to a sizeable crowd.

"I started my day with a Tennent's," singer Ed Macfarlane noted before playing 'Photobooth', which he revealed was the first song Friendly Fires ever wrote. "And I think I started the day well!"

The statement saw much of the crowd cheer in response.

Coming onstage to local heroes Primal Scream's 1994 hit 'Rocks', the frontman had initially seemed fairly reserved, greeting the tent by simply waving and introducing first track 'Lovesick'.

However, his emotive dancing throughout the set managed to inspire the audience to move their feet, much to his pleasure.

New track 'Kiss Of Life', which Friendly Fires are set to release as a single in late August, showcased their love of South American rhythms and featured several different sections. Guitarist Edd Gibson also added to the song's armoury by playing a cowbell.

Like much of the band's set, the track had the massive crowd dancing along.

For 'On Board', the band were joined by Foals member Jack Bevan, playing percussion. "I literally just dragged him onstage," Macfarlane said after the track. "Sorry about that Jack!"

One of the biggest cheers of the night came when Friendly Fires played 'Paris', the penultimate track in their set.

The band wished the crowd the best, before launching into fan favourite 'Ex Lover' as a set closer.
