London gig cancelled after stabbing

A London gig by Alexander O'Neal was cancelled yesterday (July 10) after a teenage boy was stabbed in the leg and hit with a bottle.

The concert, held at Southwark Park in Bermondsey, was halted by police at around 8pm (BST) after the boy was stabbed and suffered facial injuries in the attack.

Soul singer O'Neal, who had flown over from the US especially for the gig, could not perform.

The victim was taken to hospital but is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.
