Coldplay break digital album sales records

Chris Martin and co sell more than one million album downloads in the US

Coldplay have become the first artists to sell more than one million full digital albums in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.

This adds to the band's total of more than two million complete albums that have been sold worldwide. The figures include downloads of Coldplay's four full-length albums, as well as a live album and a full-length EP.

Chris Martin and co are currently touring North America in support of their most recent album, 'Viva La Vida'. The tour hits San Diego's Cricket Wireless Amphitheater tonight (July 16).

Meanwhile, the band are gearing up to debut the video for their latest single, 'Strawberry Swing', on Monday (July 20) via Babelgum.com. The video features frontman Martin as an animated super hero.
