Single 'written on Twitter' released for charity

Single 'written on Twitter' released for charity

A song written using the micro blogging site Twitter is set for release.

The 'The Heart Balloon' was written by Gary Go and his "followers", who suggested lyrics for the song using the site after he was inspired by seeing a heart-shaped balloon entangled in a tree outside his house.

The track is being released today (August 21), and is available to download until August 31.

The song is available – like the initial release of Radiohead's 2007 album 'In Rainbows' – on a pay-what-you-like basis, and all the voluntary donations for the song will go to the British Heart Foundation.

'Heart Shaped Balloon' is available from Bhf.org.uk/garygo.

Gary Go plays this weekend's V Festival (August 22-23). NME.COM will be coming live from both the V Festival sites this weekend (August 22-23). Stay tuned to NME.COM/festivals/v-festival for news reports, blogs, video interviews and photos from the event. Plus get next Wednesday's (August 26) issue of NME for the ultimate V Festival review.
