Jack White has revealed that The Dead Weather's new album will be out in April.

Talking to Australian radio station Triple J, White gave an update on the follow-up to 2009's debut 'Horehound'.

"The Dead Weather are finishing recording the last couple of songs," White said. "I'm going to start mixing in the next two weeks, so yeah, it should be out in April."

As for the sound of the album, White added that the record was "bluesier and heavier than we ever thought we could be" and stated that the first single, 'Blue Blood Blues', would see him take on vocal duties, instead of Alison Mosshart.

As previously reported, The Dead Weather gave an update on the new album back in October, when they appeared live on NME Radio.
