Ellie Goulding has revealed she admitted herself to a hospital after suffering a panic attack last year.

The 'Starry Eyed' singer/songwriter told the Sunday Times she "felt like having a heart attack" after Florence Welch told her she was a fan of her music.

Goulding was supporting Florence And The Machine on a UK tour at the time of the incident, which she said served as a "warning".

"One [part] was me was going 'Aaargh', and the other was really calm. They clashed that night. These two people bumped into each other, and it was a disaster," she said.

"I ended up feeling really upset and weird, it felt like having a heart attack. I actually went to A&E. I think that was a warning: that my body had to deal with the other person."

Goulding picked up the Critics' Choice award at the BRITs 2010 earlier this month and also topped the BBC Sound Of 2010 poll in January.

Her debut album 'Lights' is released tomorrow (March 1).
