Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 longlist voting opens
Awards ceremony set to take place next February
The first phase of voting for the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 has begun.
You can now cast your vote online at NME.COM/awards to determine who makes the shortlist for next year's awards, which take place at London's O2 Academy Brixton on February 23.
Last year's ceremony saw big wins for Muse and Kasabian, with Paul Weller being named Godlike Genius. Categories include Best British Band, Best New Band, Best Album, Best Festival and Hero and Villain Of The Year.
As it did this year, next year's ceremony takes place right after the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, in 2011 featuring Crystal Castles, Magnetic Man, Everything Everything and The Vaccines, has culminated. There are also a number of Shockwaves NME Awards Shows taking place in London throughout February in the run-up to the awards.
Head to NME.COM/awards to vote and for more details.
