Creation Records founder Alan McGee has said that talks are taking place about a potential new feature film about the label.

The Scottish mogul told the Daily Record that he was set to sit down with a "big film guy" to discuss the project soon.

"The big film guy I'm meeting is a good guy," he said. "He's good for a laugh and is interested in talking to me about making a feature film about Creation."

He added: "It's a film about some lunatic who runs a label that ends up making millions of pounds. Actually there are two movie ideas – a druggie one and one that's more serious. Maybe we can make one that combines both."

McGee, who signed Oasis, Primal Scream and Super Furry Animals to Creation, said that he would love Rhys Ifans to play him on the big screen, but did not reveal further details about the project.

McGee appears in new Creation Records documentary Upside Down, set to be aired at screenings across the world from this month through to July.
