Muse, Pulp and The Strokes close Reading and Leeds Festivals

2011 bashes draw to a close as Jarvis, Julian and co rock out

Muse, Pulp and The Strokes have brought the Reading and Leeds Festivals 2011 to a close tonight on their respective sites.

Up in Leeds Pulp topped the bill on the Main Stage, with The Strokes playing before them. The two bands were billed as co-headliners – last night at Reading Pulp's Jarvis Cocker joined The Strokes onstage, but tonight the bands kept themselves to themselves.

Tonight Pulp treated the crowd to hits 'Disco 2000', 'Common People' and more, and were again joined by their old touring guitarist Richard Hawley, who played guitar on 'This Is Hardcore' mid-way through the set and stayed for the duration.

The Strokes, meanwhile, played a straight set without guests or surprises.

Down at Reading Muse brought their 2001 album 'Origin Of Symmetry' to the site along with a 'greatest hits' section at the end, as they had at Leeds Festival on Friday night.
