The album was recorded in Nashville and, as previously reported, the Bright Eyes man has worked with First Aid Kit on the record, with the sister duo providing backing vocals throughout. The LP has been produced by musician Jonathan Wilson, who has also produced albums for Father John Misty and Dawes.

Fans will get the chance to see Obert play songs from 'Upside Down Mountain' later this year when Oberst arrives to play three headline shows in the UK this July.

He will play Manchester Cathedral on July 8 and London KOKO on July 9 and Glasgow ABC on July 21. Support on all dates comes from Dawes. He will also play Latitude Festival on July 19.

Conor Oberst plays:

Manchester Cathedral (July 8)
London KOKO (9)
