Anna Calvi has collaborated with David Byrne on a new EP which will see her cover artists including David Bowie, Suicide and Connan Mockasin.

The EP is titled 'Strange Weather' after its Keren Ann cover featuring Byrne and will be released on July 14. Byrne also features on a cover of Mockasin's 2013 single 'I'm The Man, That Will Find You' while versions of Bowie's 'Lady Grinning Soul' and 'Ghost Rider' by Suicide also appear. Calvi's version of 'Papi Pacify' by FKA Twigs can be heard below.

The EP was produced by Thomas Bartlett and recorded in New York. Nico Muhly provides strings on 'Papi Pacify' while the cover of Suicide's Ghost Rider was recorded with Jeff Buckley drummer Matt Johnson.

Speaking about his work with Calvi, David Byrne says: "I'm a big fan of Anna's two records and I caught her tour after her first record at Bowery Ballroom here in NY. 'Epic' I think is the word that is often used. I was invited to suggest songs and I loved the last Keren Ann record and I thought 'Strange Weather' had a haunting quality that might suit Anna.... so we did that, and Anna then suggested I join in on the Connan Mockasin track she'd done too."

'Strange Weather' tracklist:

'Papi Pacify' (FKA twigs)
'I'm The Man, That Will Find You' (Connan Mockasin) – featuring David Byrne
'Ghost Rider' (Suicide)
'Strange Weather' (Keren Ann) – Anna Calvi and David Byrne
'Lady Grinning Soul' (David Bowie)

The EP comes in the middle of a busy summer of festival appearances for Calvi, with appearances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Latitude and Green Man all confirmed.
