Morrissey has teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to create an animated cartoon to be shown when he tours his forthcoming album 'World Peace Is None Of Your Business', reports Billboard.

The clip, created by PETA and animator Anna Saunders, sees a chick named Nugget being born and slaughtered in a factory farm, but dreaming of escape and reunion with its mother. It is soundtracked by Morrissey’s 1992 song 'I Know It’s Gonna Happen Someday'.

The emotive video's release is timed to coincide with Morrissey’s 55th birthday on May 22. PETA's Lisa Lange said in a statement: "The best way for anyone to celebrate Morrissey's birthday is to go vegan—not 'someday,' but today."

A staunch campaigner for animal rights, Morrissey recently spoke about about seal hunting in Canada, writing, "Murder is not debatable, and the people of Canada must speak up and stop this carnage in order to restore the global image of their country."

Morrissey is due to release new album 'World Peace Is None of Your Business' this summer. The singer, who released his autobiography in October 2013, has signed a new, worldwide record deal with Universal Music's US-based Harvest Records for the release of his 10th studio album.

The 'World Peace Is None of Your Business' tracklisting is:

'World Peace Is None Of Your Business'
'Neal Cassady Drops Dead'
'Istanbul'
'I'm Not A Man'
'Earth Is The Loneliest Planet'
'Staircase At The University'
'The Bullfighter Dies'
'Kiss Me A Lot'
'Smiler With Knife'
'Kick The Bride Down the Aisle'
'Mountjoy'
'Oboe Concerto'
