Former La Roux musician Ben Langmaid has hit back at anti-Kanye West comments made by singer Elly Jackson, by saying he loves West.

In a Sunday Times interview, Jackson refused to talk about her work with West, saying: "Fuck him! Nobody likes him."

Langmaid mischeviously responded on Twitter, writing: "Love @kanyewest Love you man!", followed by a series of four photographs taken from West's Instagram account. Langmaid also retweeted three fans backing West, including one who wrote: "Fuck La Roux, nobody knows her" and another who said: "Who fuckin cares about La Roux, viva la Kanye."

Jackson is now La Roux's sole member after Langmaid left during the making of her second album 'Trouble In Paradise', which was released yesterday (July 20). Langmaid gets co-writing credits on five of the album's nine songs, and also tweeted today: "I've got loads of credits as engineer on the new album. Funny that, cos I'm the worst engineer I've ever known."

Langmaid's Twitter jibes are largely out of character following his split with Jackson. He has previously retweeted fans praising her new material as well as positive reviews of 'Trouble In Paradise'.

In his only public comment about the break-up, Langmaid issued a statement to NME in which he said he was "truly saddened" by the break-up, adding: "I'm looking forward to the record being a great success and I shall enjoy watching it unfold. I have immense pride in the part I played; no one can take that away from me." Jackson said the pair stopped working together because "there wasn't a great deal of understanding" over the album's direction.
