NO DOUBT'S 'FINAL COUNTDOWN'?

NO DOUBT have compared their new material to Swedish poodle-permed '80s rockers EUROPE, saying their tracks are "a fusion of dancehall reggae, Euro-synthpop and victory rock".

According to www.sonicnet.com, guitarist Tom Dumont said the band have finished the touring for this year's 'Return Of Saturn' LP, and are now focusing on writing the new record.

He said: "I would describe our new direction as a fusion of dancehall reggae, Euro-synthpop and victory rock, a la Europe's 'Final Countdown'. We're planning on being very adventurous and working with different producers."

Dumont also revealed the band hope to release their new as-yet-untitled record "by the end of 2001".
