Noel Gallagher has revealed that Paul Weller is a big fan of The X Factor.

The ex-Oasis man reckons the former Jam frontman was caught out after the modfather's daughter spilled the beans on her dad.

He told Sky Arts 1's Jo Whiley Music Show:

Weller watches it. He denies it but I know for a fact that he does because his daughter is one of my daughter's best friends. I'd go to her, 'Did you watch The X Factor?', and she said, 'Yeah, watched it with my dad.' And I'd say, 'Well that is interesting'.

Weller had previously slated the show as "very cheap programming and the lowest common denominator".

Gallagher also said his own daughter Anais was also livid that he rejected Simon Cowell's offer to be a judge on the show. He added: "She has never forgiven me for turning him down. I told her I'm not doing it, it's not for me — but she just screamed in my face, 'But Dad, it's The X Factor'."

The ex-Oasis chief meanwhile is on course to top the UK album chart with his debut solo album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' this weekend.

Check back on NME.COM on Sunday (October 23) at 7pm to see if he is Number One.
