Noel Gallagher reportedly managed to get his hands on a Blue Peter badge in the 1990s, making his friend Paul Weller envious in the process.

The story comes courtesy of former Blue Peter presenter Katy Hill, who gave the coveted badge to Noel herself.

Speaking to The Sun, Hill said: "Noel left a note at reception saying, 'Please can I have a badge?' Controversially, I only left one for him – and not one for Liam. Apparently he later slept with it next to his bed. He had a dinner party and Paul Weller came round, and he would say, 'I want your badge'."

Katy Hill was a Blue Peter presenter between 1995 and 2000. The highly coveted Blue Peter badges are awarded to children aged 6 to 15, or to adults who have been guests on the programme. The badge provides the wearer with free entry to many British attractions, particularly museums and exhibitions that are featured on the show.

Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher recently revealed that he turned down the chance to become a judge on the next series of The X Factor.

The former Oasis chief confirmed recent reports that he'd been approached again to join the talent series for £2 million but he refused the offer because he "didn't want to be on the telly every Saturday night". The vacant space on the judges' panel will instead be filled by Sharon Osbourne.
