Former Oasis man and Northern Irish stalwarts will play 14 shows together later this year

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Snow Patrol have announced a joint tour for later this year.

The former Oasis guitarist and the Northern Irish rockers will team up for 14 dates across the US and Canada in October and November.

The run of shows begins in Portland at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on October 23 and runs until November 9 when the pair headline Houston's Bayou Music Center.

Both bands are currently immersed in a hectic summer of festival appearances and are both due to play second headline at next month's V Festival.

Snow Patrol are currently touring in support of their sixth album 'Fallen Empires, while Gallagher is still supporting his solo debut LP 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds'.
