Former NWA member sues over Fergie song

The Arabian Prince says he's owed royalties

Former NWA member The Arabian Prince is suing Ruthless Records because he says he is owed royalties from a Fergie's track 'Fergilicious'.

The suit was filed on March 9 in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, and claims that Tamika Wright, Jerry Heller and Ruthless Records used a sample from his song 'Supersonic' in the track, which is taken from Fergie's debut solo album 'The Dutchess'.

The Arabian Prince, whose real name is Kim Nazel, formed NWA in 1986 with Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, MC Ren, DJ Yella and The D.O.C. .

According to the suit, Nazel owns 20% of the track, and says that Ruthless Records has been collecting royalties from its inclusion on 'The Dutchess'.

He says he has tried on several occasions to collect his portion of royalties but the label has refused, reports allhiphop.com .
