Benicassim Festival moves

Next year’s bash will take place in July

Benicassim Festival moves

The 2006 Benicassim FIB Heineken Festival has confirmed that it will be taking place earlier next year.

The event will move from its traditional August weekend to July 20-23.

Discussing the move, organisers explained the festival will now no longer collide with the peak season for summer holidays in the region.

“The celebration of FIB Heineken in the month of July will allow us to avoid the holiday rush that takes place in Benicàssim during the first fortnight of August, which means that our audience will not only have a greater number of hotel rooms available, but will also be able to enjoy the region’s beaches, roads, services and tourist sites more comfortably,” the orgnaisers explained in a statement.

They also added that steps are being taken to improve the event’s site over the next few years.

Last year’s Benicassim featured the likes of Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs and Kasabian on the bill. The line-up for next year’s event has yet to be announced.
