Liam Gallagher has been voted the tenth wittiest Britain in a new poll.
The Oasis star was placed at Number Ten for his wordmanship, regularly insulting rival bands, celebrities and musical genres.
In a poll for new TV Channel Dave, over 3,000 comedy fans put the Oasis man at Number Ten in a list that included some of Britain’s greatest writers and states people.
Writer and playwright Oscar Wilde topped the poll, followed at second place by comedian and writer Spike Milligan, with Stephen Fry at Number Three.
Legendary wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill came in at Number Five.
Some of Gallagher’s most famous quotes include his onstage proclamation at Knebworth that: “Americans want grungy people, stabbing themselves in the head on stage. They get a bright bunch like us, with deodorant on, they don't get it.”
He also famously said of Victoria Beckham: "She can't even chew gum and walk in a straight line, let alone write a book.”
