Ryan Adams will join the Gallaghers for North American dates

Ryan Adams is to join Oasis on a handful of North American dates this summer.

The singer will be backed by his band The Cardinals for the dates, that kick off in Seattle on August 26.

This will be Oasis' first tour in two years, and their first ever extended Canadian jaunt.

The tour dates are:

Seattle, WA WaMu Theater (August 26)
Vancouver, BC GM Place (27)
Edmonton, AB Rexall Place (29)
Calgary, AB Pengrowth Saddledome (30)
Winnipeg, MT MTS Center (September 1)
Ottawa, ON Scotiabank Place (4)

Adams is a big fan of Oasis, and included a cover of 'Wonderwall' on his 2004 'Love Is Hell' album.

The former Whiskeytown frontman said Noel Gallagher later told him he was a big fan of the stripped-down version.

UK and European Oasis dates have yet to be announced.
