Noel Gallagher: 'Canada attack felt like sparring session with Ricky Hatton'

Oasis guitarist blogs after V Festival incident

Noel Gallagher has spoken for the first time about the onstage assault he suffered while playing the V Festival in Toronto on Sunday (September 7).

Writing on the Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere blog on Oasisinet.com, the guitarist admitted he had a bad feeling about the gig.

"I'll have to stop this prophesising. I knew something was going to happen last night. I said I had a bad feeling, didn't I!?" he wrote.

Recalling the incident, Gallagher explained: "Someone, who can only be described as a 'Canadian', was able to get onstage, somehow managed to evade our crack security team (Trotters Independent Security Service) and assaulted my mid-riff.

"Can't say much more than that as the 'perpetrator''s gonna get the book thrown at him. Repeatedly. It was all going so well up until that point'n'all."

Speaking about his injuries that forced Oasis to postpone a show in London, Ontario, Gallagher declared: "Feel like I've had a sparring session with [Manchester boxer] Ricky Hatton. Still, we'll probably get an extra couple of days in NYC. Every cloud, eh?"

After being an oasis fan for something like 10 years i hope this was a publicity stunt! There's no shame in that. Although i doubt Lord Noel could be arsed with it being so..

How can he compare that to a pro boxing match ? he was shoved less hard then a shove you would get in a mosh pit circle noel would be killed at a slayer concert.Besides the most interesting thing to happen on the north american tour was some silly canadian getting his revenge.. My guess is it was one of the NME posters complaining how boring NOELS blogs that nme was posting were so boring. way to spice up oasis Canada!! one step closer to being rock n roll, Noel. Kurt Cobain used to throw himself on to amps and drums sets all the time much harder then he Noel fell and Kurt never missed a show from a bruise ..

Noel Makes Kurt Cobain seem like the most tough rocker ever. Kurt's dives into his amps and drums sets were so much more painful looking and on purpose. He never missed a show over bruise.

HAHAHA, Kurt Cobain was sooooo tough jumping around and into everything and not feeling any pain. Of course you dickhead forgot to mention he was smacked out of his head all the time. So tough he never cancelled a gig, just cancelled his entire life - WHAT A MAN. A true hero. LOSER.

Oh curt cobain's cool cos he jumped into his own stuff. It's a bit different if you are oblivious of something and don't have time to react, you're judging it off a video on youtube so you don't really know how he fell or anything. I love to see you drips get thrown into the shelves you stack at tesco's by surprise and se how much you bitch. And as for it being a publicity stunt; get a grip .
