Oasis joined by 50-piece choir in London

Plus Noel Gallagher lobbies Daniel Craig to do 'next Bond theme'

Oasis performed with a choir last night (October 26) as they wrapped up the 2008 BBC Electric Proms in London.

Joined by the Crouch End Festival Chorus on six songs at the Roundhouse in Camden, the band played a set that mixed their usual rock 'n' roll with the choral backing.

Already buoyed by their rehearsals with the 50-piece on ensemble, with Noel Gallagher calling them "immense, celestial in fact", the choir joined in on 'The Masterplan', 'I'm Outta Time', 'Wonderwall', 'Don't Look Back In Anger', and the show's climax of 'Champagne Supernova' and the traditional closing cover of The Beatles' 'I Am The Walrus'.

You can watch the collaboration on 'Champagne Supernova' below, while more songs can be seen at bbc.co.uk/electricproms.

The touted cover of The Rolling Stones 'We Love You', however, did not materialise.

With the sold out audience including James Bond actor Daniel Craig, guitarist Noel Gallagher took the opportunity to throw his hat into the ring to do the next theme - taking a pop at Jack White and Alicia Keyes current Bond Theme in the process.

"James Bond is upstairs, I might see if I can blag it so that he can get me the next James Bond theme tune instead of fucking dopey Americans doing it all the time," Noel told the audience.

He also suggested that his friend and former Shockwaves NME Awards host Russell Brand was on a similar blag, hoping to score a part as "some effeminate James Bond baddie".

Oasis played:

'Rock 'N' Roll Star'
'Lyla'
'The Shock Of The Lightning'
'Cigarettes And Alcohol'
'The Meaning Of Soul'
'To Be Where There's Life'
'Wating For The Rapture'
'The Masterplan'
'Songbird'
'Slide Away'
'Morning Glory'
'Ain't Got Nothin''
'The Importance Of Being Idle'
'I'm Outta Time'
'Wonderwall'
'Supersonic'
'Don't Look Back In Anger'
'Falling Down'
'Champagne Supernova'
'I Am The Walrus'

As previously reported, Oasis sold out their 2009 summer stadium tour, shifting half a million tickets in five hours. They have since added extra shows in Manchester and London, and a new date in Coventry.

I have to agree with mattd190, Liam sounded terrible at times. They haven't been great for a very long time....

Im suprised nobody has mentioned Liams vocals before this. His voice is quite shockin at the moment. I am a big fan of Oasis but the demise of his vocals is quite sad. You get the feeling he knows it too. When you look back to his voice in the maine road gig era it was stunning. Seems to be since he's wore those ear pieces its shot his voice to bits. He best go and have some fookin vocal training!

Liam doesn't sound good at all.. Looks like Noel is adding fuel to fire about it... Noel blogged that he will be brillant at the upcoming gigs, which is a swipe at Liam. Noel sounds better than ever... I'll be surprised if a blow-up doesn't happen at some point..

Haha. Just when Oasis finally get a good drummer, we discover the monkey upfront has irrepairably wrecked his voice with cigarettes & alcohol [man].The Crouch End Choir? Noel Gallagher hasn't an original idea in his Parker sized head. Over

Worst version of CS I've ever heard. Liam is out of tune, out of time and out of breath. The band aint much better. Plodding.

Thought I'm 'outta time' was Liams best vocal, other than that he was terrible. Masterplan with the choir was awesome.
