Oasis postpone gig tonight (January 19) in Germany
Dusseldorf show is rescheduled because of Liam Gallagher illness
A statement on Oasisinet says that the singer has been told by doctors to rest for 48 hours because he has an oedema on his vocal chords.
The reads: "Oasis have been forced to postpone tonight's sold out show at the Philipshalle in Dusseldorf on medical advice. Liam Gallagher who has had a sore throat for the past few shows was examined by a doctor this morning (January 19).
"The doctor has diagnosed an oedema on Liam's vocal chords and has advised total rest for 48 hours."
Tonight's gig has been rescheduled for the February 4, and all tickets remain valid for the new date. Ticket holders can also apply for refunds from the point of ticket purchase.
The statement confirms that the rest of Oasis' European tour is set to go ahead as planned. The band's next scheduled gig is on Wednesday (January 21) at Amsterdam's Heineken Music Hall.
Writing on his official blog on Oasisinet yesterday, Noel Gallagher said he was also ill with a cold at the moment.
"If anyone came to the Hamburg show last night (well done, by the way!), can I just apologise that you had to witness me coughing my insides up at various points during the evening," the guitarist wrote. "An undignified sight I know, but this cold is killing me."
