Next Oasis single revealed by 'Cobain' remixer?

Noel Gallagher gets a pal to help out on band's next release

Gaz Cobain from The Amorphous Androgynous has been asked by Noel Gallagher to remix Oasis' next single, according to his MySpace blog.

Cobain says he recently received a call from Gallagher asking him to remix 'Falling Down', which he says will be the next Oasis single.

"Noel Gallagher rang in to the Automobile Association headquarters personally today, and what a thoroughly nice chap he is too," Cobain wrote. "He wants us to remix the next Oasis single, 'Falling Down', from 'Dig Out Your Soul', giving us carte-blanche to do what the fuck we want."

'Falling Down' has already appeared in remix form on as single, with The Chemical Brothers' version of the track backing comeback single 'The Shock Of The Lightning'.

In his official Oasisinet blog, Gallagher called The Amorphous Androgynous' 2008 album 'A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind (Vol 1. Space Rock)' "one of the best things I've ever, ever heard".

Cobain also revealed that Gallagher had ordered ten copies of the album to give to friends as Christmas presents.

"Two of the 10 went to Paul Weller and the geezer in Kasabian," he wrote on MySpace.

The Amorphous Androgynous are now set to DJ at Oasis' aftershow parties when the band plays London's Wembley Stadium this July.

Just what Oasis fans wanted, another remix as a b-side. Expect this to reach the heights of about 23 in the charts before dropping out of the top 40, just as the last single did. The reason most Oasis fans used to buy the singles was for the quality b-sides as the already owned the single when they bought the album. Get back to writing songs which would be a match for those on Masterplan, after all Noel you always say how many spare songs you have at the end of every album session.

Agree about the b-sides, how come whenever Noel is interviewed around album time he says he wrote 40-50 songs.......why do we never hear them ???Lining his solo career song-book ?

I bet he's keeping decent material back for his solo album. Can't wait for that, Oasis have done as much as they can now

supertrin is quite right. Even if they released the extra songs, that people would have to spend £50 on a box-set to hear, as B-sides would do them more good than remixes. They can't think that remixes interest people more than B-sides surely? Clearly just laziness.
