Oasis' Liam Gallagher attacks Enemy's Tom Clarke

Singer threatens to take away tour support slot from band

Oasis' Liam Gallagher has launched a Twitter attack on The Enemy, after saying he thinks the Coventry band slagged off Oasis in a recent interview.

Writing on his page, Twitter.com/liamgallagher, the singer attacked the band by calling frontman Tom Clarke a "little fucker".

He also questioned whether the band were the right choice to support Oasis on their forthcoming UK stadium tour.

"Having read an interview with Tom Clarke from The Enemy apparently Oasis are past it?" Gallagher wrote. "Do you want to go on 1st [on the tour] or what you little fucker?"

The interview Gallagher is referencing is likely to have come from The Sun on Monday (May 18), which saw Clarke giving his opinion on Oasis.

"I don't think Noel needs to do it [be in Oasis] anymore," Clarke explained. "He's doing it for the love of it. That's the dream. That's when you can say you've made it."

Some Oasis fans on fansite including Oasisteria.com have interpreted Clarke's comments as an attack on the Gallagher brothers.

Didn't read the interview, but what he's saying here does not seem to be slagging Oasis off. What I understand Tom Clarke to be saying is that Noel doesn't need to be playing in the band for money, but that he keeps on doing it for the love of it, and that would be his dream, too.

I don't really care what Liam says, but Tom Clarke is a total twat. He seems to have appointed himself as some sort of spokesman for disenfranchised workers, but all he ever does is shoot his big mouth off about things that are already completely fucking obvious. Silly prick.

Tom is obviously giving Oasis a huge compliment here. Saying that he dreams he could get to the stage oasis are at where they play for the love of music rather than the money. However Liam can't get it through his thick head that someone actually ISN'T trying to have a go at him.

I'm sorry.. for a minute I thought you said Arctics are far bigger and better than Oasis!!? Are you out of your mind!? Arctics have had two albums Vs Oasis's 7 albums (10 including compilations).. and 6 of those being number 1 albums. Oasis are also much more recognised world wide compared to the Monkeys. I think it is pretty ignorant to suggest arctics are bigger than Oasis.

GIRFUY's right.. the real problem with Oasis's summer gigs is Kasabian..what the appeal of that band is I'll never know..having seen them Live on Jools Holland last night they appear to be as shit as ever..that song 'Fire' they did, was so very poor.. a Manc fest of bands like Doves, I am Kloot, Cherry Ghost, Steven Fretwell, would make for a much better day.

Pete78, you've made a brilliant point there as you've mentioned some of the better and certainly worthy Manchester acts! Perhaps a festival featuring those bands and NOT Oasis would be better tho - keep the piss hurling, moronic Oasisheep in their own field for an afternoon - that way they can only annoy each other!

totally with you on this Pete78 - I just don't get the appeal of them at all...chancers....Noel's patronage of them surprises me but then again his track record in this area is not exactly brilliant - Proud Mary, Twisted Wheel. The Doves and The Arctics would have made for a superb gig...
