Oasis overcome sound blip to thrill Wembley Stadium

There will be 'no refunds' declares Noel Gallagher as band suffer brief problem

Oasis suffered a short sound problem during their Wembley Stadium show in London last night (July 9) – but Noel Gallagher was quick to quash any refunds.

The band suffered a loss of sound as they performed 'Wonderwall', although with the crowd in full voice the audience ably finished the song.

However following trouble at Manchester's Heaton Park when the band announced their would be refunds from the stage before managing to play most of their intended set, the guitarist was quick to quip there would be no money back offers this time.

"Last time this happened it cost us half-a-million quid, so just to be clear none of you are getting you fucking money back," he declared from the stage. "Not you, not you, not you with the glasses!"

However the problem proved to be just a blip in the set, which saw frontman Liam Gallagher dedicate 'Live Forever' to The Verve's Richard Ashcroft, who was at the gig.

The Gallaghers also had a pop at bandmate Andy Bell's sunglasses, suggesting he "looks like he's just come from the Jackson memorial".

Oasis played:

'Rock 'N' Roll Star'
'Lyla'
'The Shock Of The Lightning'
'Cigarettes And Alcohol'
'Roll With It'
'To Be Where There's Life'
'Waiting For The Rapture'
'The Masterplan'
'Songbird'
'Slide Away'
'Morning Glory'
'My Big Mouth'
'The Importance of Being Idle'
'Half The World Away'
'I'm Outta Time'
'Wonderwall'
'Supersonic'
'Live Forever'
'Don't Look Back In Anger'
'Falling Down'
'Champagne Supernova'
'I Am The Walrus'

Earlier Kasabian, The Enemy and Reverend And The Makers had all performed.

Oasis are now due to play Wembley Stadium again tomorrow (July 11) and on Sunday (12).

it cost us half a million quid?!?!?! really or have you managed to send out a collectors item in the form of a bank of burnage check knowing full well a hardcore fan won't cash it.. And yes i did try and claim the money back for 1 of the 12 tickets i received. not coz i was unhappy with the gig far from it....it was quality but for the sheer fact i had spent over £400 quid on tickets for all three nights.

We were there, have to say the worst sound i have ever witnessed at a gig, like listening to the whole set through a bucket only to get to there best song and the sound cuts out for most of it, all we could hear was booing, absolute con at £50 a pop, a band with all that money, at the the very least the sound should have been audible, apart from that they seemed to play a really good set, they looked really cool but the sound really let that gig down.

Sorry guys and gals but it was a good concert, but not great. Liam Gallagher is too much of an a-hole; whats the first thing he does when there is a sound blip, remind fans several times they're not getting their f**king money back. Been to much better, not a touch on the Foo's at the same venue.

Yeah, that's right Noel. You slip your hands into the pocket of those bowl-headed scallies and not only will they thank you for it, but they'll also actually do your job for you. It's a good job 'Wonderwall' hasn't got a tune, though, otherwise they'd have been totally fucked.

I presume they had The Enemy on the bill for the same reason that skinny ugly girls have really fat best friends.

There´s no doubt about the size of the band, no doubt either about the good live act they offer, but we can´t deny that the´ve been having A LOT OF MAJOR technical difficulties all tour long, they should look for a better staff, these kind of mistakes CAN NOT BE TAKEN from this kind of mega bands!

it was a quality gig ! 97mde what were you watching ? and parking....its supposed to be a ''public transport'' venue so of course theyre going to put up the prices to deter you from driving....economic sense.

NN4Owl & thehammer1984 are deaf and most definately stupid!! I agree with 97mde, OASIS are over-rated and at Wembley they sounded rubbish! A waste of time and money! Might have sounded better if I was totally pissed and throwing beer (and piss) over everyone in the crowd, then I might have had a good time eh.....not!

Yes! I thought it was just me. At Cardiff in the millenium stadium i could barely hear each song. During Live Forever i could barely make it out, i was thinking what the hell is this song. But you get by because each song is so well known it eventually catches on and everyone sings. These venues are big i suppose but ive been to a few in Cardiff where the volume was actually up. Just makes no sense, ive heard louder sets at open air festivals.

What a bunch of whinging bastards. £50 to see a class performance from Kasabian & Oasis. There was nothing wrong with sound just with the few people who just stood around not singing. Why go to a gig like that & not have a drink & a good time you miserable tossers!
