Oasis cancel second festival appearance

Claims of an 'altercation' at Paris event

Oasis have pulled out of their second festival appearance in a row tonight (August 28).

The band were due to play at the Paris Rock en Seine festival but did not take to the stage as planned.

According to eyewitnesses in the crowd, a message appeared on the festival's big screens saying the performance had been cancelled due to an "altercation".

Scottish singer Amy MacDonald, who also played the event, claimed via Twitter the band "cancelled again with one minute to stage time!!! Liam smashed Noel's guitar, huuuge fight!"

It is understood that Madness took their place.

Oasis cancelled their headline appearance at V Festival in Chelmsford last weekend (August 23).

Noel Gallagher has subsequently announced that he is quitting Oasis.

Have your say on the split by taking part in NME.COM's vote: Can Oasis continue without Noel? now.

It was really funny that Amy McDonald said, a few hours ago, on the very same stage where Oasis should have played, something like "It is a great moment. I met Oasis in the backstage." She is such a lucky girl... :-)

que ricky wilson to pipe up.....I had a wired feeling at the heaton park gig that it would be the last time Id see them (yeah ok easy to say that now but I did) but comparing the liverpool gig with heaton it just seemed liam and noel didnt even wanted to be near each other. where as liverpool liam was walking round noel and clapping to noel. gutted but bring on noels solo work finally and as for oasis well theres two ways replace noel and carry on or liam goes solo

Well what can i say? Got to admit that I'm gutted to see them finish as I've been a massive fan since I was a teenager but I'm not suprise either. From 1994 onwards, Oasis have always been the band I loved more than any other. From copying hairstyles and Parkas to picking up the guitar and getting into music myself, they certainly had an impact on me. There's no doubting the impact they have had on music over the past 15 years also. Yes there have been some dodgy moments along the way, with albums being released under a haze of drugs and drunken pomp, to the fall outs and various band re-shuffles but lets face it, Oasis are without a doubt one of the greatest bands of all time and will go down in history as such, whether the cynics want to except it or not. If only for the glorious feeling that Definitely Maybe and What's The Story Morning Glory provided us with and captured what it was to be young, free and MAD FER IT!! I feel privileged to have seen them 3 times on this, what seems to be their final tour, in Belfast, Slane Castle and Brussels. Thank God I enjoyed every last minute of them. Noel & Liam - it's been biblical!! Live Forever!!
