Oasis' Liam Gallagher and Andy Bell flee England - Daily Gossip

Madonna wants David Tennant, Alex Kapranos becomes a gardener, White Lies take time out – your music gossip stop

Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.

Today’s top gossip:

Liam Gallagher has left Britain with wife Nicole Appleton and Oasis bassist Andy Bell. The news comes after Noel Gallagher announced his departure from Oasis on Friday (August 29). The trio, who were also joined by Bell's girlfriend, have all headed to Italy's Lake Como together. They flew straight from Paris, where Oasis were due to headline the Rock en Seine festival before the altercation that led to Noel Gallagher leaving the band. Meanwhile, the Gallagher brothers' mother Peggy has said she believes her sons could still patch up their differences. "They've had fights before and got over it," she said (various).

Have your say on the split by taking part in NME.COM's vote: Can Oasis continue without Noel? now.

From the papers:

Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey thinks Oasis will definitely get back together in the future, saying: "You can't really split when you're brothers" (Daily Mirror).

Midge Ure, meanwhile, has backed Noel Gallagher's decision to walk out on Oasis, calling it "admirable" (Daily Record).

White Lies' Harry McVeigh says he wants to take time off before recording the band's next album. "I just want to chill with my family and friends and head somewhere hot," he said (Daily Star).

Madonna wants David Tennant and Cate Blanchett to star in her new movie project, 'Wallis' (The Sun).

Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos says he grows his own vegetables (Daily Record).

seems to me that the oasis boys are sticking with liam on this one. maybe we don't know the full story after all. everyone seems quick to blame liam when it's clearly obvious there's more to it than meets the eye. noel did this back in 2000. now i'm not saying liam is mr innocent (we all know better, lol) but i'm also sure noel is a brat as well yet you don't see liam ever quitting the band.
