Noel Gallagher has said that he is planning to leave London and return to his hometown of Manchester to live.

The singer/guitarist, who moved to the UK capital following the release of his former band's 1994 debut 'Definitely Maybe', said that the capital had lost its "spark" for him, so he was looking to head home.

"I'm leaving London to go back up north, to Manchester," he told the Evening Standard. "I've been advised to do a Rod Stewart, as in a tax exile, but I don't want to do it. But London has lost its spark."

Noel Gallagher recently confirmed his intention to launch a solo career following Oasis' August break-up.
