'Oasis' plan summer release for first album without Noel Gallagher - audio

'I'd like to have a record out by July,' says Liam

Oasis have revealed plans to release their first album without Noel Gallagher.

Although the band is currently working without a name, Liam Gallagher has said he wants an album out by next summer.

"I'd like to have a record out by July next year," Liam told Virgin Radio Italy. "We've already done about three songs and they're fucking sounding amazing."

Listen to the whole interview by scrolling down now.

As for the sound of the new material, Liam was quick to point out that although Noel had left, the group's sound would not be changing much.

"It ain't a new direction," he explained. "We're not making reggae music or rap music. It might have a bit more energy and be fresher. It's not going to be that different."

As previously reported, Andy Bell and Gem Archer are set to remain part of the band.

F'ing Andy Bell will write the good songs. Maybe some of you are too young to remember but he penned some of the best songs on the planet.

I think they will do a great job and wish them all the luck in the world, and for Noel too.Noel may have been the soul song writer for Oasis, but if you listen to DOYS you will hear that Liam, Gem and Andy will be fine on that side of things. GOOD DAYS TO COME!!! CANT WAIT :)

Its embarrassing really, but in fairness Oasis stopped being relevant in the late 90s.

They can't even come up with a decent name, so how are they going to come up with any decent songs?

Liam has wrote some of the best songs on the last 3 albums! Gem and Andy are great song writers too, give them a chance, people are way to quick to jump on peoples back. If they come out and they are shit fair enough

Whew, I'm glad it's not going to be 'that different'. Oasis's constant reinvention and musical innovation had me struggling to keep up. Hopefully now we'll just get some simple rock, just a bit fresher and with more energy.

Waiting for this album is the same as waiting for a colonoscopy....you know it will be painful and crappy. Cannot wait for Noel's album though....

Wow. Smell of arrogant snobby bastards here. Anyone that left a comment above write anything better than Noel, Liam, Andy or Gem? No? Then shut the fuck up!

Oasis has the opportunity to bang out a stunning album and on their last effort there was some good songs written by Liam and the lads. Noel will probably embrace the Paul Weller style of career by playing smaller intimate venues and come up with the best written songs to date of his career! So in the end just like being children of divorced parents we will get twice the presents!

Lukechota, if it was that easy why doesnt every band do it and sell millions of albums and sell out stadiums! I bet your one of those little indie shits that only likes bands that aren't in the maintream and dresses like a weirdo to make up for not having a personality. I'd take an Oasis album without Noel over anything else, alot bands these days are too far up there own arses. An acoustic album from Noel would also go down a treat.

and here we go again, people slagging off oasis....its so boring and honestly, like neil85 says, from all these people that most likely have only just got into music OR are into the cr*p thats around at the moment and has been for the past 6 years (i.e. when this student skinny jeaned pashmina pointy shoed cultured took over)....your wombat, kooks bloc party bands will never sell out stadiums...its just a dream to them and they too slag off oasis but deep down they would love to have a fraction of the success oasis have had...isn't it funny how all these people who 'hate oasis' and 'think they're cr*p' take the time to read this page and take the time to comment about liam etc etc....think that shows exactly how much oasis do mean to the music scene because people who 'hate them' even take the time to comment on them....ha ha go back to your own culture and have a group sesh over your pashminas....idiots

Lukechota, don't forget Liam's fashion label, Pretty Shit.

dukey1985

Dec 17, 2009

and why is Liam's clothing label 'Pretty Shit' ? Is it because you cant afford it yourself? or is it because pretty green dont make pashminas?

This is great news for Oasis fans. This is the first I've read of hearing Gem and Andy would stick with the band. My guess is, they will still work under the Oasis name. The three of the have written some pretty good songs over the past few albums and maybe overall the lyrics will not be as great as Noel's. However, if it is the same sound as it was before and the lyrics are anything like I'm Outta Time, then I think Oasis isn't dead.As for Noel, I think he will write some of his best stuff to date and play in more intimate settings, like someone said above. I'm very excited to hear the new stuff from both brothers.

mate most of you's are hypocrits i would love to see you's get off your arse and do the sorta things liam has like become a full time singer and create your own brand of clothing, if you dnt remember liam has worte some amazin songs for oasis aswell. Most of you's know fuck all so why the fuck slag down oasis n liam. All the best goes out to both Liam and Noel good luck to them both

dukey1985

Dec 18, 2009

here here! oasis' music is still just as significant and important to the music scene now as they've ever been....there hasn't been one band since the mid 90's that have made such an impact that oasis have....yeah kasabian and couple of others have become big but haven't made no-where near as bigger impact as oasis did and are STILL doing now...without oasis, the british guitar scene would have been dead a long time ago....but why am i (and a couple of others) bothering to talk about oasis and their impact in the 90's....most of you slagging them off here are probably kids or teens that know nothing about music or oasis for that matter..thats what makes you sound so ridiculous...lol you keep to your new wave twat culture and compare your idiot haircuts...but love or hate oasis, you cant deny the fact that oasis were, have been and STILL are the biggest band in this country and have been for a long long time....i too say to both liam and noel good luck in what they're doing...not that they'll need it because it'll drown any music out there at the moment in success...and hopefully in a few years, they'll do a led zep and do a one off STADIUM (those places that student bands will never get to play in) tour and patch things up.
