Liam Gallagher has explained why he snubbed his brother Noel while accepting Oasis' Brit Award for their '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' album last month.

The singer namechecked all the members of the band who worked on the 1995 album apart from Noel when picking up the Best Album of 30 Years honour at the ceremony.

Now, speaking to blog Stopcryingyourheartout.com, Liam has claimed that he was trying to get his former bandmates more recognition by leaving out Noel, who wrote all the songs on the album, in his speech.

"I'm sick of it all being about me and Noel," he said. "The last couple of months has pretty much been all about me and him so I thought it was only right to mention the other lads who played on the album and the best fans in the world."

He went on to claim that by throwing the award trophy into the crowd following the speech he was simply trying to appease his fans. "I thought it was a nice gesture to give this to the fans," he said. "Obviously it was misinterpreted as per usual."

Liam, who is working on a new album with his ex-Oasis bandmates minus Noel, said the new set-up hadn't decided on their name yet.

He did say that he would consider working with Jay-Z, after the rapper said he would potentially like to hook up with the singer to work on new material. "If the tune's right and its not too far out of my comfort zone, then yeah, fucking right!" Gallagher declared.

Meanwhile, the singer also told Blackbookmag.com that his label, Pretty Green, has done a deal with Clarks to release a new range of shoes.
