Liam Gallagher: 'I'm not going into film-making'

Ex-Oasis singer unveils new Beatles project at Cannes

Liam Gallagher has declared he is not set to start a career in film-making, despite unveiling his new Beatles project in Cannes.

The ex-Oasis frontman's new production company, In 1, is undertaking the biopic based on Richard DiLello's EMI memoir 'The Longest Cocktail Party', which charts the "wild rise and fall" of the record company at the end of the 1960s.

Gallagher said the memoir had held "biblical" meaning for his former bandmates but he said he has no plans to carry on making films after the project, reports the Press Association.

"I'm not going into films, this is the last thing for me," he said yesterday (May 14) alongside collaborator Andrew Eaton of Revolution Films: "I mean I'm not going to get sucked into that. I'm going to do this one thing because I like it, and I've got the opportunity to do it, and Andrew's going to make it happen, and that's it."

He also denied that he's set to make an appearance in the movie, adding: "I'm too good-looking."

The biopic is an account of life with the band between 1968 and 1970, and the feature film will be a humorous account of DiLello's book.
