Bookmakers have suspended bets on Oasis headlining Glastonbury after Liam Gallagher tweeted messages relating to the band last night. (April 24).

As reported, Gallagher took to the social media network to individually tweet the letters O A S I S over the course of a few hours, following it up by tweeting OASIS LG. The cryptic tweets led bookmakers Paddy Power and Ladbrokes to suspend betting on the possibility of the band reforming and headlining Glastonbury in June.

With just one headline slot at the Worthy Farm festival available alongside previously confirmed acts Kasabian and Arcade Fire, other favourites for the festival with bookmakers include Metallica and Prince. Bookmakers Paddy Power are also offering odds of 9/1 that Kate Bush will headline Glastonbury in 2015, after the singer announced her return to live performance.

Speaking to NME earlier this year, former Oasis guitarist Bonehead said that he is confident Liam Gallagher would be keen to reunite the band. "If someone said, 'Here's a field, here's a stage and here's 200,000 people,' I'm sure Liam would jump up and do it, and I don't think it would even take anyone offering him a massive bankroll of money," he said. "He'd do it because that's what he loves, that's his passion."
