Official Secrets Act drummer Alex McKenzie has been hospitalised for the second time this year following an injury.

McKenzie was involved in a serious cycling accident in February, after being struck by two cars.

Now, an MRI scan has revealed that he sustained a broken vertebrae, and he will sit out of touring for the immediate future while doctors ascertain whether he requires surgery.

The band cancelled their appearances at the Dot-To-Dot Festival over the weekend. They have now drafted in Brakes drummer Alex White for the remainder of their European tour.

Official Secrets Act are still scheduled to play NME's Festival Launch Party at the 02 Academy Islington in north London on June 11.
