Fans injured during camera boom accident at OMD SXSW show
OMD fans suffer injuries at Stubb's venue
A number of festival-goers were injured in an accident at the South By Southwest event in Austin in the early hours of this morning (March 19).
A camera boom fell at the Stubb's venue while the band OMD were playing live, reports Kxan.com. Four people were taken to the University Medical Center Brackenridge for treatment.
A spokesperson for the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services described the injuries to the four as "minor".
Scott Shumaker, a record label rep at the event, told Billboard: "One man walked out with a large gash across his head, followed by another man escorted by police. It appeared that at least six-seven people needed medical attention, and at least two people were carried out on stretchers."
The band's set was delayed while the injured fans were taken for treatment.
