One Direction toys and merchandise are the second most requested presents among British children this year.

Merchandise affiliated with the boy band is proving more popular than the Xbox One and Furby, but has failed to outsell Lego, which stands firm in first place. The research was carried out by Royal Mail workers, who analysed over 200,000 letters from kids in the UK.

The One Direction paraphernalia available for purchase this year includes toothbrushes priced at £8.99, and cycling helmets priced at £18. Other items such as One Direction onesies and blankets were also on the children's Christmas lists.

One Direction, whose third studio album 'Midnight Memories' is likely to retain the Number One slot of the UK Official Album Chart this week, were filmed last weekend (December 7) on Saturday Night Live performing 'Afternoon Delight' with the cast of Anchorman 2, together forming the supergroup Nine Direction.
