One Direction singer Harry Styles has won a court order against paparazzi photographers.

A group of photographers are now banned from waiting outside his home and also from pursuing him in public places, reports The Guardian. The unnamed photographers have been ordered by Mrs Justice Nicola Davies to not follow Styles by car or motorcycle in order to obtain photos and have also been told to stay 50 metres away from his residence.

Styles' lawyer David Sherborne told the court earlier today (December 16): "This is not a privacy injunction. Mr Styles is not trying to prevent fans approaching him in the street and taking photos. He remains happy to do that, as he always has. Rather, it is the method or tactics which have been used by a certain type of photographer." There will be another hearing in January 2014, during which courts will work out the best way to proceed with the injunction.

Meanwhile, One Direction have recently been named as the most successful X Factor act by Amazon. The boyband are the best-selling act to appear on the TV talent contest in terms of sales on both the US and UK Amazon sites. The group, who had Simon Cowell as a mentor, only came in third place on the seventh series of the show in 2010, but their third studio album recently beat Daft Punk's record of the fastest selling album of 2013, according to the Official Charts Company.
