One Direction's Liam Payne has caused a Twitter storm after he tweeted about his love for Duck Dynasty.

The US TV recently came under-fire after one of the show's stars, Phil Robertson, was exposed for his homophobic slurs. Payne caused the backlash after he tweeted Phil's son Willie yesterday afternoon (January 18) to show his respect for the family and the programme.

Liam Payne tweeted:

After receiving tweets from people criticising the singer for publicly endorsing the show, Payne then tweeted: "Oh my god can someone literally not be a fan if a show without bring labeled WTf I bought dinner the other day it made a news story."

Meanwhile, Mark Wahlberg says he plans to "beat the crap" out of One Direction, should he ever cross paths with the British boyband. The Transformers 4 actor also signalled Harry Styles for special treatment and told US chat show host Conan O'Brien that he wants to punch the singer on the nose.
