Wholesale company attempt to sell 1,000 One Direction cut-outs by removing Zayn Malik

The company have tried to stick the cut-outs back together with gaffa tape

A local wholesale company are trying to get rid of 1,000 cardboard cut-outs of pop group One Direction.

One Direction singer Zayn Malik departed the band yesterday (March 25), after he had previously pulled out of the group’s Asian tour.

Now, Wholesale Clearance UK, a company based in Poole, Dorset, find themselves in a tricky predicament after they were left with a stock of 1,000 full group cut-outs of One Direction. The company are now flogging the entire job lot for £1,000 (or £1 per cut-out), which they claim could make a buyer a profit of £34,000 if they later sold all items at the RRP.

One problem, however, is that the company have cut out the image of Malik and tried to stick the cut-outs back together with gaffa tape. See above.

A statement from the company reads: “Where do broken cut-outs go? The day has finally dawned when One Direction are down one member. Unfortunately for us at Wholesale Clearance, we have just received a huge order of 1,000 One Direction cut-outs for their new world tour.”

“We had the heartbreaking decision of putting the now redundant five onto the skip, never to see the light of day again, or the equally heart-wrenching effort of tearing Zayn away from his friends to leave the new forceful foursome! Worse still, old Zayn was placed slap bang in the middle of the fantastic five and so we have had to stick Harry back together to the gang. We don’t want to lose Harry too!”

The company continues: “What has happened to Zayn, though? Well we can’t answer for the real life version, but One D fans will be pleased to know that we have found a special place for our cut-out Zayn’s along with piles of superglue, just in case he decides to return… We can dream! Goodbye Zayn, farewell and good luck in your future ventures. If you by any chance want 1,000 cardboard cut-outs of yourself we would be more than willing to send them to you. Or if you want a whole one of the group to remind you of the good times, do let us know!”

“Please note: duct tape placement may vary on the cut out.”

A statement issued by the band yesterday confirmed Malik’s departure and that the group will continue without him. “After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction,” the statement read. “Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year.”

Malik himself added: “My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I’d like to apologise to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”

Rumours about Malik’s future in the band were abound after he recently pulled out of the group’s Asian tour (March 19) so he could fly back to the UK to be with his family after pictures emerged of him with a mystery girl in Thailand. Malik is currently engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.
