Orbital announce more reunion shows

Ravers say Klaxons inspired their return

Orbital have announced a pair of reunion shows of their own -as well as more festival appearances.

The dance duo, who split after their 2004 Glastonbury performance, say the rise of bands like Klaxons and Pendulum rekindled their love for all things "ravey".

The group had already confirmed a festival appearance at The Big Chill on (August 8), and will also now perform at RockNess (June 13), Global Gathering (July 24-25). And they will follow up those performances with two shows of their own later in the year.

Orbital play the following headline shows:

Manchester Academy (September 19)
London Brixton Academy (25)

A welcome return from the dance legends. Question is will they be able to fit in with today`s music scene? One waits with baited breath! A nostalgia trip is most likely, however thats not such a bad thing were the Hartnoll brothers are concerned.

I'm a big fan of Orbital myself and I have collected all their early works. They peaked around the time of their 'Radiccio' EP (1992). After, say, 'Style' (1999), they lost it a bit. But with a "greatest hits" setlist, they should still "raise the roof", so to speak, talking about open-air festivals...
