Bands pull Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds performances
Illness forces two groups out of this year’s bash
The Organ have been forced to pull out of the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The band have announced that they won’t be playing this year’s bash, which takes place between August 25 and 27.
According to their website Theorgan.ca, the band have had to pull their Carling Stage appearance due to illness.
“It is with deep regret that we have to cancel our performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals due to severe exhaustion which has created a medical problem for one of our band members,” they explained in a statement.
“We want to assure our audiences that we are not breaking up, but that time is needed for recovery.”
The Organ follow emo newcomers Paramore who, as previously reported, have also dropped out of the festival.
They will now not be playing Lockup Stage after singer Hayley Williams complained of vocal chord irritation. She is currently recuperating ahead of the band's October tour.
Sonic Boom Six will now open the Lock-up Stage at Reading on Saturday (August 26) and Leeds on Sunday (27) with Captain Everything! and Adequate Seven moving up the bill.
Meanwhile The View have joined the festival playing Saturday in Reading and Sunday in Leeds.
