The UK advertising watchdog upholds a complaint…
A poster advertising OUTKAST has been branded "irresponsible" by the advertising watchdog the ASA.
A complaint was lodged with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) over the ad, which showed rapper Andre 3000 holding a pink gun.
The ASA said that because the "the gun was smoking", the ad implied it had just been fired and "could be seen to glorify gun use".
Their label BMG claimed that Andre 3000was "one of the artists least likely to glorify violence".
A second complaint, that the advert promoted racial stereotypes, was rejected.
