OutKast's Andre 3000 arrested for speeding
Rapper was clocked by police in Atlanta
Outkast rapper Andre 3000 was arrested this weekend (March 28) for driving so fast that police branded him "an accident waiting to happen".
The singer – real name Andre Benjamin – was driving his 2007 Porsche Carrera near Atlanta, when he was stopped by police for driving 109mph on Interstate 75, where the limit is 65mph.
The star was arrested for the danger that he posed, according to MTV News.
Henry County Police Captain Jason Bolton told Atlanta's WSB-TV: "Travelling that fast along 75, you're passing people as if they're standing still. It's an accident waiting to happen."
Benjamin was released on $1,200 bail, and is due to appear in court on April 29.
State representative Jim Cole is lobbying for a new Super Speeder bill to be passed in the state of Georgia which would force drivers to pay an additional $200 fine for driving at more than 85mph on highways and four-lane roads.
Cole hopes that Benjamin will help rally support behind the bill, telling the station: "He might be willing to help us market it."
