Ozzy Osbourne biopic on the way

Sharon Osbourne says unknown actor to play part

Sharon Osbourne has announced that a film is set to be made about the life of her rocker husband.

Speaking at a US Celebrity Apprentice news conference, she revealed the project is set to go into production – but that no actors had yet been cast.

“There’s about to be a big announcement,” she said during the NBC event. “It’s been picked up and it’s going into production.”

She added: “We’re going to make a press announcement hopefully within the next two weeks. [There’s no cast] yet, but we have a producer and we have lots of money and we’re all starting.”

Sharon added an unknown actor is likely to pay the legendary Black Sabbath frontman. Yet she suggested rising British star Carey Mulligan could play the role of her: “The girl from An Education, the English girl Carey Mulligan,” she explained.

It was suggested her daughter, Kelly, could even play her role.

“To play me? She is a Mini Me, so yeah, she would be good,” she replied.

Previously, a biopic based on Mötley Crüe biography The Dirt had also been mooted. The film was set to focus on the debauchery of the band, and would include other rock legends like David Lee Roth and Ozzy himself, with Christopher Walken rumoured at one point to play Osbourne.
